ASC (and SLP for at least the '96 model year) kept track of the sequence number of each WS6 that they "converted" for GM. Some folks were able to obtain that sequence number via VIN cross-reference that each company kept. There are gaps in the record: SLP didn't keep track of the sequence number for the '97 WS6s, rumored to be because they were displeased with losing the '98+ contract to ASC. Also, ASC had a fire where these paper records were destroyed for some of the 2000 MY run. There's no dash plaque for it, but it gives you an idea of where in the line your car was built / converted. My WS6 was converted on the 2nd-to-last day ASC did the '98s, so my ASC number is close to the total # of WS6s built that year.
