Gmmg + H/c I just want to know from anyone that has that setup GMMG exhaust with headers, or GMMG with a new cam and headers how it really sounds? I've heard the GMMG on a blackbird one time and it sounded sweet. I've also heard it on my friends Camaro SS but have never heard it with that setup and from what I've heard it sounds really bad once the real mods begin. Is this true? Will the GMMG still sounds sweet like it does now or will it be irritating to the ears?
i can tell you first hand that long tube headers + catted y pipe with the gmmg is awesome...I've never heard someone say it sounds bad when you mod your car...I have heard that if you run no cats it gets real raspy.... talk to blowngtx on the board or do a search for his sound clips...should give you what you're looking for...

I agree. Living in Michigan, got to be someone close to you that has a 2002 ZL1 (i.e., for example, Gib & Tammy Louden). Call Berger Chevy and see if they know of someone close to you that has a ZL1 that you could listen to.
Mine is a Phase II.......so I have the long tube headers, cam and the LS6 engine. I also have an exhaust cut-out on mine too.
I suppose if I were to tell you that I have only had the radio on three times since I have owned it, would that tell you that the sound of the engine through the exhaust is oh so sweet?
Go to a WMCC (Western Michigan Camaro Club) meeting in the spring and you will see & hear some Phase 2 GMMG cars. I think they sound awesome BTW. A bit more growl than my car w/stock heads/cam/manifolds. Here's a pic from one of our club meetings

2004 events are still posted on there too so scroll down to 2005. Looks like none of the meeting places are set yet so just check periodically. I highly recommend joining it's an awesome club. I am a member even though I live in IL.

in the case you are still wondering...heads and cam do not sound bad with this exhaust...you just needa look around for the cam that causes the least amount of rast in ALL different types of exhaust setups...
something thats said to be streetable...with around a +.550/+.550 lift and a 114 LSA...with a duration around 220/220? thats jsut me...i like the G1 cam from MTI soundws damn good through duals...but has great sound either way..
for headers...im Biased but QTP (kooks are slightly cheaper)
I heard a stage 3 last year at the Camaro and Firebird Invasion at the Corvette Museum. It sounded bad ***. I think everybody in the place ran over to look at it and it was only idling.
I'm with J.D. on this one, and a few others... I have Long tubes, with a catted y pipe, into the gmmg catback, also with a cutout. I listen to the radio some, but the exhaust has an awesome tone to it.
if your worried about rasp get a cam with near 0 degrees of overlap- so fairly low duration and a +114LSA TR224, SS1, SS2, TR220, OLD MAN, TSP Sleeper, Comp 226, C1, C2

i have a c2 cam, with hooker lts, and lanes true duals...i occasionally hear some rasp, but i dont know how you say it could go unnoticed...you def can tell my car is cammed. and untuned i made 351rwhp/354rwtq and by the looks of the graph, those #'s should go up very nicely with a tune
