Default Whats it worth?

hey guys,

i'm looking at buying this WS6 since its only about 30 minutes away from me.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...528871677&rd=1

the blue book is $18.3k.

What would you guys pay for this car? I need to haggle the dealer of course but where should I stop?

What figure should I start at? Thanks!

p.s. i'm going to look at it monday afternoon, so quick replies would be great!

I would start around 16.5 and not go any higher than book value, its only worth what someone is willing to pay. I bought a 1 year old formula with 12k miles for 15k they were asking 21.5 it just took time, this is a good time of year for you to get the best deal. sounds like a nice car just put in a offer and dont be afraid to walk away. you can always come back in a couple of days and offer more or they might call you. good luck.

Expect it to go around 22,000 to 25,000 possibly. With the car having that low of miles, it could even go for a little more. I just went through this in a month long search for one with low miles. I would jump on that car if I were still in the market. Everytime I would find one, it was already gone, so it won`t sit for long.

I used to be the internet manager of a large dealership in Atlanta. Here's the best tips I can give you. Go to Kelly Blue Book.com, look up and print out dealer trade in fair and good condition. That's what they paid for it, unless they really stepped into it to make the deal on the new purchase they were trying to sell. Then look up private party. Print it out. Take these with you in a file folder. When you sit down at the table pull out the dealer trade FAIR price first. When you have to step up to GOOD, If needed you have the EXCELLENT trade in value. When the salesman can't get something out of you, they'll send the manager to talk to you. Even if they were going to make money they will still try to grill you to think it's not doable. If you have to walk out then do so. You will at least have their bottom price when you leave.

The car you want to buy is in top condition, it WILL sell. It's not the 89k mile stripper Formula with cloth and auto. This car they have will sell and they won't go to bottom dollar to limp this deal along. If you want personal advise on this deal free to PM me and I'll give you my cell number. Also watch out for the finance office.

okay so the auction ended w/o a winner, and the highest price was $16,200. I think the dealer will still be firm at $19k...what do you think? Too high?

What "should" i pay for this thing?

I would say 19k with t&t included. The car should run 13.4-13.7 with a descent driver.

Thumbs up

I say 18.5 plus tt. You should pay about 22k out the door. @ 72 months it's about $395 monthly. -- At 60 it'll be $420ish. That car is mint, very close to new. Brand new that car cost 32k. I think it's still worth 30k if you judge by condition. IMO.

I think that car was worth every penny. Sorry bro. Just get preapproved from your bank for a specified limit and shop the Auto Trader. You might find a similar car that has a few mods already for the same price. Also check in the classified section of this forum. Good luck.

Like Firehawk#608 said, getting pre-approved is the best thing you can do. Banks have different criteria on how long a term you can depending on purchase price and all that, but find a loan that suits you and then go to the dealership. They'll hate you for it, but you have the upper hand. Screw talking about monthly payment. All they do is increase the term to lower your payment. You didn't save any money going that route. Walk in and say this is what I'll give you out the door (including tax/title/license). It's none of their business what you got pre-approved for or what the monthly payment is. And no, you're not interested in them beating the rate and getting a lower payment for you. That's how they make their money and screw you. Finally, be patient. Cars like that don't sell very well around where I live. Make an offer and then walk away when they jack with you. Two weeks later, go back and offer again. The name of the game is turnaround. They want to move cars as fast as they can. After sitting in the lot for so long, they will cut their losses if it is within reason and you'll get your deal. PATIENCE!! I have bought two vehicles this way and I am proud to say that I paid EXACTLY what I initially offered both times. Remember you have the upper hand, not the salesman.

If the car had only 6075 miles, why did it have a brand new set of tires on it? My 00 SS has less miles then that and there ain't a damn thing wrong with the tires.

Something don't add up!
