Well when I was looking at 2001 TA's I checked into insurance. With a clean driving record most insurance agencies quoted me around $400 a month for full coverage. Mind you at the time the cars were new. When I reached the age of 25 things got a lot better. I pay $218 a month for full coverage on both my 2003 Silverado and my 2002 Firehawk.

Im 19, almost 20 (next month) and I traded my 00 Camaro for the TA, I was able to get a small loan to make the difference between the 2 cars. I pay 159/month for the car and around 2000/year for insurence.

I am 20 with a 2001 WS6- $1000 every 6 months. the trick is to get a cheap junker and throw it in the back yard, insure it with liability. make that your "primary " driver and the LS1 a Secondary. this is how i set mine up, well actually how my insurance guy did it. Thats with AllState too not the internet ones. I like having a local agent.

my insurance is $56 a month
my mother is the primary, i am the primary on my junker, and this is a pleasure car, with low mileage policy, so no more than 7500 miles a year for me
no problem since i store during winters...only put 500 miles on my camaro last year!

i bought my ws6 at 18, now im 21 and finally have some $$$ for mods. shoulda never sold my 87 T/A, cuz the 18000 ive paid in payments would have made one hell of a 3rd gen. just from experience, i would get something cheaper to have money to mod.
my 2 cents

im 18 and have a 1997 Firebird Formula. I paid for almost all of it. (3/4 of it) and i pay around 220 a month for insurance listed as a driver under my parents policy. I am accident free and have good grade discount plus drivers ed discount at my school. I've been working since around I was 14-15 to start saving for my car. Just think..if you want it bad enough and work hard enough you can have anything. good luck finding your ws6!

I'm 21 and how i afford is simple...i'm overseas and the car isn't
I pay $440/mo and thats it no gas or insurance all but may 8 out of the 12 months of the month. The $440 is my COLA i get overseas that way i still have my whole check to play with.
When i get back to the states its just gonna take some careful planning
