WS6 Authenticity?

I am thinking about buying a 96 WS6 and I was just wondering where would I look for the WS6 RPO code to make sure it is not a conversion or something like that? That is the code for a WS6 right? Someone correct me if I am wrong please. If there is any better way to double check to make sure a WS6 is a WS6 from the factory then please let me know.

look at the sticker on the drivers door - it will say WS6 along with a million other codes

If there is not one in the door then check the glove box, I can not remember where mine is in my 94.

I agree check the RPO sticker....Definately do some reasearch on firebird rpo codes.

I was thinking about buying a certain TA, I thought it was a WS6 (it had the hood, the 17' wheels, and badge). The guy was honestly and said it wasn't a factory ws6.

97 and below WS6's were done by SLP
98 and above were done by ASC
WS6 is the performance package
WS9 is a trans Am...
lots of conversions out there....

let me know if I got anything wrong...

ws9 is also the formula.

I thought WS6 did not start on 4th gens till 97? I know the SS camaro started in 96, but I am not sure on the WS6 option. All the 96's I have seen with the stuff on them were fakes.

ws6 started back with the 2nd gen as a suspension package. it having the performance and hood started in 97

WS6 started in 78. The WS6 package was availible in 96, (only year for the silver painted 17" wheels). There was no WS6 from 93 to 95.

The car I am looking at has the silver painted rims. They are not chrome or polished aluminum. I thought that was kind off unique. I do know that the WS6 option started in 96 though for a fact. I can find the WS6 RPO code on the drivers side door sill right? Thanks for the info. I looked at the Blue Book and the WS6 option added like $1500-2000 on to the value of the car so I want to make sure that it is a real WS6.

Either the drivers door or in the glove box. I'm not sure if it was in a different spot on the LT1 cars. Most people went for the polished wheels so I think the pianted wheels are on the rare side. I have only seen two WS6 Formulas with those wheels.
