Depends on the weight (options) and whether it is a stick or manual but on street tires it should run a 13.3-13.2 with a good driver/manual and add a couple tenths on a auto. The 1LEs were good for 12.9s with a stick (yes I remember what you guys taught me lol).

it can just vary motor to motor...autos had 3.23 rear ends on the ss. as far as a manual of course a 3.42 rear end, but just read the drag racing section to get tips on the launch which will make or break you. i have a K&N filter and a magnaflow exhaust on my 98 ss six speed i ran a 13.532 @106 with a 2.2 sixty foot time...

Oh durrrr, it also depends a lot on altitude. I was talking about something close to sea level and good air of course. My buddy ran a 13.3 @ 107 on a tired clutch at Norwalk and all he had done to his 01 SS (99 had different cam but after 00 I think had the LS6 intake) was muffler delete and control arms at the time on actual 18" Z06 rims with 295s in the rear. This mph indicates much better times with drag radial etc...

The car was an auto. I was just curious because I have not had my truck to the track yet, and I had beat an auto 99 SS by about 3 cars up to 105 yesterday. I was just trying to get an idea of where I sat in the 1/4 with my truck. Thanks for the info guys!!

Well the 01-02 (correct if wrong) SS's have the LS6 intake, Z06 clutch (doesn't really apply to this though), and maybe more options from SLP? I have the 325 hp option on my door sticker (upgraded exhaust--sounds good! pretty loud too!) and it's an M6 but i haven't raced a lightning yet, want to though, i love those trucks. Good luck at the track! Sounds like low 13's for you with traction!

Here is a short vid of the race. Sorry about the jump in the footage after the launch. She hooked so good, the camera hit the cameraman in the head and he accidently hit record again I guess I didn't quite have him by 3 carlengths, maybe 1.5. I'm using rapidshare, so you have to click free at the bottom of the page, and wait for the ticker to count down to 0. The file will then be available to download.

Last Friday (5-06) I ran a 13.492 @ 105.32 with a 2.107 60' at Firebird in Phoenix (1242' elevation). All this with just a lid and cutout....and 2.73 rear gears.

depends on the driver.

I took my 39K stock 6-speed 99 SS to Houston Raceway Park about a month ago and ran 12.84 @ 104 mph with a 1.80 60' time on regular radial tires. Backed it up with a 12.90. That was after a few 'practice' passes, my first two passes that night were a 13.4 and a 13.2

no weight removed, just as it came off the factory floor. Powershifting the car, of course

Stange567 : Considering I was there to see the race and being a fellow F-body owner myself, I would not lie, He walked this SS bad. Either way, the car is getting a Hypertech programmer (He wants one for some reason) and wants to rerun. Either way, he will get stomped again I'm sure. Check for a vid in the near future, this time I will tape it so nothing is messed up.
