SS gear ratio ????

Did SS's come with 2.73's I thought the lowest gear ratio offered in SS's was 3.23's?

SS/WS6/'Hawk all got 3.23's, nothing else.

That may be true for autos, but the M6 was only offered with 3.42's.

obviously if he's talking about 2.73's he's referring to the 4l60e. and yes, all t56's came with 3.42's.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe you could order any other gear ratio from GM/SLP. Maybe GMMG, but that's not through GM.

Easy with the put downs, Im looking for a new car and the ad said 2.73's I didnt think that was right but I wanted to make sure. Its an m6 car, I didnt know they all came with 3.42's though.

You couldn't get different gears, just the better Auburn carrier.

The Auburn carrier was a up-grade and could be had with optional ratios if you knew the right strings to pull at GM or a GM dealer.

If your SS is an automatic and a true SS,you have 3.23s...

Check you driver door for your RPO codes..(a bunch of 3 digit codes)..one will say WU8 (meaning its an SS) and another code you will find is GU5 (the rpo code for 3.23s).
