True SS? How would I find out if my car is a true SS? The dealership said they checked on it and said it was but I want to find out for myself. Heres the vin number on my car #2G1FP22G512114726

When I bought it it has all different emblems but that means nothing but the insert that says camaro above the radio they bought a new one to say camaro ss. I dont know what that says on a z but all in all just curious. They said they checked on it and found out it was a true ss but on the car fax report it says z28, I dont know if it says that because ss is just a package or what.

For future reference, SS never shows up on the carfax, title, or insurance (some companies it does though). That's because it's just an option on the Z28 model like t-tops would be.
So newbs that stumble across this thread, check the RPO or call SLP with the VIN. That's the only way to tell - and don't rely soley on the dealership because they don't know anything. Do your research and make informed purchases
