I wish you woldn't buy either of those cars. It seems like you're going to daily drive it. Those cars really should be preserved as much as possible. Why don't you spend less and run down a base z28 or ta?

If I drove past you driving a Firehawk covered in dirt through winter salted roads I'd be more pissed than impressed.

It's his money and his car...he can do with it what he wants. If it gets wrecked/ruined that just makes yours more valueable because there's one less nice one out there. I'm more impressed when people aren't afraid to drive rare cars instead of hiding them away in a garage, never to be driven or seen. Personally I'd take the Hugger Orange SS just because they look so sweet in that color!

Hey I drive my Firehawk quite a bit. About 6k miles in 2 years. I'll never drive it through pouring rain with dirt all stuck to the side. THAT is what pisses me off about people who rag out rare cars.

Dirt washes off. I've been stuck in the rain a few times with my car. Not that I intentionally drive it in the rain but it happens. Hell, it gets dirtier at the dragstrip from burnouts than the rain gets it. Now if he lived on a dirt road and drove 60 through the mud with it, THAT I would consider ragging on it. Get over yourself and go Zaino your car or something.

Out of 343 Hugger Orange SSs on my registry list, only 16 have ALL SLP options (both MN6 and MX0).

Logically speaking, Firehawks were made for 11 years. Hugger orange cars are only made for '99. I've seen a RARE 1997 Hugger orange SS with the LT4 engine. It was orange with white stripes. So sweet seeing it with the hood popped and the red LT4 looking at you.

There were 2 30th Orange with white stripe cars with LT4's I believe it was a BFG promotional deal that SLP did the two identical cars for.

hugger orange ss vs. firehawk. Just going on what i see, id day the HO ss is more rare, but thats just a guess. Besides, its goofy. You're comparing a model "firehawk" vs. a model AND a specific color "HO SS." I mean narrow the firehawks down to one color and duh, we all know whos the rarest. But its cool, I get just curious about different things too; I'd say HO ss is the rarity.

You can narrow it down to the Canadian versions which are scarce......see if I cannot find the link, but also, some of the 90's models were also small production numbers.

...along w/COMP T/A's

Couldn't locate the link BUT, I did locate an old post from my mag:

"Pontiac Excitement" mag Volume: Summer 2002

1992 - 25
1993 - 201
1994 - 500
1995 - 671 (plus 72 Comp T/A's)
1996 - 41 (plus 45 Comp T/A's)
1997 - 116 (plus 47 Comp T/A's)
1998 - 0
1999 - 719
2000 - 742
2001 - 540
2002 - 1505

Bear in mind these are not broken down by GM code options, SLP options, nor Canadian maplehawks, which are rare.

no offense firehawk608, but you speak of preserving rare cars yet you seem to have modded the **** out of your rare car i think that decreases the value.
just something that came to mind. have a nice day!

2002 Firehawk Blk Mods: Built T-56,Longtubes-ORY,Lunati 236/236 cam,ASP pulley,Shaner S3,Crane tuner,410 gears w/TA girdle,subframe,torque arm,strut bar,other stuff... Completely polishing EVERYTHING under the hood.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add IT IS MY DAILY w/53+K miles, so preserving IMO, is like putting a person in deep-freeze and re-viving xxxx years down the road.

But hey, that's just my opinion, but MANY Firehawk owners DO keep the mileage down since they have 2,3,4 other vehicles. IMO, they still rust over time whether you drive them or not, so enjoy life is my motto.
