Maintenance Intervals

I am approaching 23000 miles on my 2002 Firehawk. I was wondering what is all the preventative maintenance checks that should have been done on my car so far. All I have done up to this point are oil changes and tire rotations.

Take it to a good mechanic, or if you have the money a dealer, tell them you would like the car looked over completely(Not sure the term for it)and make a list of things that they saw needed or may need attending to.....But you should not need to do anything other than kick the tires, and light the fire!!

I have almost 60k on mine and it has had the rearend rebuilt once due to a bad seal. Other than that I drive the snot out of it when I come home......

The lube in the differential and the transmission fluid should be changed.

Put Royal Purple or Mobil synthetic for both the diff and tranny.

Only put synthetic fluid in the Diff. if it originally had synth in it. The wrong type of fluid in a diff is bad news. Some are designed for 80w or 90w oil only. If you put synth fluid in a diff designed for regular oil the expansion rate is changed and may cause you problems that you didn't ask for. The fluid level will have to be adjusted and the case pressure will change with different fluids. Just put whatever is recommended for the diff in the diff and nothing else. Just a word of advice from a mechanic.
