Info for Hurst Edition?
Info for Hurst Edition? A friend just went from an LT1 to a 2000 SS Hurst Edition. Looked all over and searched for background info, no luck. Anyone point me in the right direction? I'll ask him for the VIN and RPO codes...

And I've never heard of a 'Hurst Edition' SS, ..., We need more information. Did that owner also simply buy an emblem & stick on there?!?

I know you can get the badge on e bay he bought the car like that lol, I think the previous owner put it on. I just didnt know if the badge could be a factory option, since our cars have hurst shifters?? And I as well have never seen aa hurst SS, Its painted like those old Hurst cutlass's! I have a feeling somebody had it done.
Good, I'm not the only one who thinks the previous owner painted it... 'cause I've never heard of it and searched to the end of the internet with nothin...but I have seen the paint scheme before... I'll ask him next week what the previous owner said the background info on the car is...

Hurst has never done a Camaro. They've done several Pontiacs over the years though. I think 97 was the last factory offered Hurst Firebird package car. Shall I start calling my car a Hurst edition cuz I got the badge, shifter and pistol grip handle?

Actually '98 was he last year of the Hurst Edition Trans Am. There is no such thing as a Hurst Camaro. Look for my posts. I e-mailed an article about the Hurst edition Trans Am to a fellow LS1 techer.

Yes, there was a special Hurst edition Trans Am. It was a "gussied up" WS6 much like the other factory editions but it was a factory-produced package and it was quite low in volume. Thats not to say one could not "trim " a WS6 to look like one. There are specific code designations for these to identify authentic units.

There have so many knocks offs and addons aftermarket. if there is no way to verify if they are real or not they will never have any true additional value than anything else. I wouldnt pay any extra I would just drive it for the car it is then. The hurst badges can be bought anywhere and so can the shifter.
