Who made the WS6?

I've always been under the impression that SLP made the SS, Firehawk, and WS6. Recently I was told the WS6 wasn't, that it was made by a company called ASC or something like that? Anyone wanna set me straight?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the WS6 was modified by SLP from 96-97 then ASC handled it from 98-02.

i know at least the 02 ws6 was done by ASC, not sure what other years

A WS6 "package" has been available since the '70's. It consisted of 4 wheel disc brakes, and some suspension enhancements.

Anyone have information? Ive looked for it but have come up empty handed. What is ASC? What do they do(type of cars)? Do I conact them for the build number of my car? And do they have a website? I searched and didnt find a thing...

The LT1 cars were done by SLP.
The LS1 cars were done by ASC - the people who brought you the SSR and the GNX among others.

Yes, the LSx were not SLP, only SS and Firehawk to the best of my knowledge.

I remember after I ordered my '99 WS6, there was someone at ASC (a woman) who would tell you what production number yours was. When the powers that be (either ASC or GM) found out she was doing this for orders, she was told to stop. That was a few months after I got my number.

As a side note, ASC had some real problems matching paint for the hoods of '99s, which caused delays. I ordered mine in August and didn't get it until the following May.
