seriously, just part it out or keep it. Those are your only choices, I don't think anyone would drop a lump sum of cash on that collection right now. If the cars and merchandise were 30 years old, then maybe. Right now, these cars and merchandise are relatively easy to find, so the collector market isn't driving high demand yet. I think your red Hawk would be worth more than the black one in the longrun. It has a more unique history and is more popular/documented. Maybe keep that one and sell the rest of the stuff.

Judging by the poll results (an admitedly small sample) most seem to value the collection at 45K and up. As a lump sum for the whole thing 45k as a low point is an acceptable reality for me. I know that I would do better selling each piece individually, but if I were to get an offer for everything that I could accept I would save myself the hassle of selling each item on its own. Very likely, one or both cars will be sold at a collector auction in the near future. At that point, I'll sell the rest individually.

Why not just list everything individually for sale on ebay at the same time, set the reserves to something "acceptable" and let things fly, Whatever sells, sells. If it doesn't sell, relist it with a lower price. Shipping can be a hassle, but if you truly "need" to sell the items, that shouldn't stop you. You seem like you want to sell stuff, but not really sell it. Make up your mind already and just pull the trigger

Ebay has been a dismal failure for anything Firehawk lately, especially cars. Listed cars aren't even reaching book trade-in value and nothing is selling (check the completed listings). I'll be taking at least 1 car to an auction in February if it doesn't sell before that. Selling the other stuff won't get me where I need to be so listing it now doesn't do any good. The decision was made a while back and at least the black car has to go. This thread/poll was just to get a feel for what the package might be worth to the F-body crowd. I'm open to offers on the cars with or without the rest of the collection, and I'd even consider a trade if the deal was right. A solid offer on everything would make me happiest as it would allow me to move on faster, so I could be convinced to accept a less than top dollar price if it all goes at once.

eBay may have been a failure for you on the cars, but not for parts.
I still say, sell the parts. I've said it all along, I'm one of the nay-sayers as you know.
I find it hard to believe anyone will ever come up with enough funds for you to sell it all off as one package.
Face up to it sooner or later, ..., you're looking for a 'one in a million' buyer.
If you find a buyer for the whole package at your price within the next couple months, ..., I'll send ya $20 for beer just so you can celebrate! (Hell, I'll change that to 'years' instead of 'months'!)

+1 vote. I think you are not being very realistic about someone buying the entire package. In 30 years sure, in 2007, not likely. Believe me, I buy and sell a shitload of these cars and parts, lol. Ebay is considered the "world's appraisal service" by many, because it will usually give a good indication of demand and perceived value.

+2 on that. Another option may be the dealership that bought my car. See if you can pm casper6871 about the details, he bought my Phase I GMMG Blackbird. I sold it through a dealership in TN and the dealership that bought it was in Texas somewhere. They gave me a good price and they deal only in muscle cars so I'm sure they would be interested.

Like I said before, I'm not holding out for a buyer for everything as a collection.
I will sell each car individually or as part of the collection. It would be nice to sell it as a unit, but I'm not restricting myself to that. In fact, I'd like to be able to hold on to the red car at least - if I can.
I'll listen to offers, trades, package deals, whatever. I'm not sure how I gave the impression that only the whole package would be available. I just wanted to get a feel for where the numbers would land for that sort of deal- that's why I started this thread.
Ultimately, I'm pretty sure that the sale will happen via a collector auction where people have the cash and are there to buy. Ebay is fine for parts, but not so great for cars - and I don't need the hassle of people who don't follow-through.
