All the CETA's were done the same way.

Shipped with Flat Yellow hoods (LOVE to see one of those!!!) and once they were taken off the were sent back to St Therese to go on the next batch.

When I 1st saw the pics on the 30th board I guess I expected a much bigger building to do the conversion process..Wonder how many they cranked out of there in a week, month? Cool pic Bandit.

Well, I can't say for the 30th, but for the CETA they were able to convert about 20 or so CETA's per day comparing dates on our registry.

There was a slide show that Settlemire showed at the F-Body Gathering a couple years ago of the last day at Ste. Therese... it was really cool, but really sad at the same time.... especially because then we didn't know the Camaro would come back.

Yeah, Dr. Why only Camaro???
I can't understand why Pontiac isn't involved in any of this revival?
G8 I understand as the replacement for the G.P. and defunct Bonneville.
But how can you tout yourself as the "Performance Division" without a Pony Car or a Sports Car?
Solstice....Pfftttt.

I think GM's current plan makes a lot of sense, personally... 1 car, 1 dev budget, 1 advertising budget. Lets GM make a much better car for the kind of price we'd expect. I'd rather the Firebird stay dead and the Camaro kick *** than have them both come back and be mediocre. GM really can't afford that anyway.

I personally believe the G8 is the GTO replacement.

Quite true.
I'm driving a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix right now as my daily driver (Hawk stays home tucked away nice and cozy until a bright, clear sunny weekend day...).
As I'm comparing the Holden Commodore / G8 to the current Grand Prix, I see that realistically, it's just an updated model. REALLY. Look at the rear corners, the shape of the car in general.
I'm not thrilled with the over the top front end grill treatment, either. The hood scoop on a Grand Prix seems silly?
Most likely, I will do a Pull Ahead and trade up for a G8 as soon as they appear in '08, but I really want a Camaro. Problem is, my lease will be up way before a Camaro shows up, and I refuse to be raped by ANY car dealer to get my hands on one unless the Fbodfather finds a way to hook us up.
Wouldn't THAT be great marketing by Chevrolet??? All LOYAL and CURRENT Fbody owners get first crack at a Camaro without a rape charge???

ALL WS6s were shipped to ASC w/ flat hoods and came back to the GM plant w/ WS6 hoods.

This pic....

...shows the 30th at the GM plant w/ the plain flat hood before being sent to ASC for the installation of the WS6 hood.

This pic....

...was taken at the GM plant after arriving back from ASC for the installation of the WS6 hood, notice the paper covering/protecting the blue stripes.

Yeah, but, Still not as much HP(400) as the '06 GTO..They are going backwards. Maybe this car is a lot lighter?

It's over 100 lbs heavier than a GTO, actually. They're going toward the more luxury, Dodge Charger kind of crowd... but remember... there's still a GXP model coming also, and they haven't given specs for that. I'd expect over 400 hp from that model. I'm saying 450, personally.

It's basically an elongated 4-door Camaro... supposedly going to share a lot of components with it.

Early estimates for the 362 HP is $36,000+++
No word on race ready suspension, either.
For that, I'd take an SRT8 Charger.

I've got the pontiac highperformance article here on my computer, 4 pages total with some good pictures of the plant and assembly. Let me see if I can upload them on to putfile.com
