i cant find my build number and would like some help. its a 97 red trans am ws.6 hard top originally automatic. i would like to at least see if its 1 out of something. lol

Welcome to LS1tech. Before someone else jumps on you for saying you have an LS6 in your 2001 lets clear up this issue. You have the LS6 intake manifold. You may or may not have an LS6 block. 15% of 2001's had that block and it really doesn't mean anything special, and doesn't make your engine an LS6. Read here:

Note that the thread I gleaned alot of this data from was started back in 11/2002, so there may be several cars that have changed owners by now. But I thought it better to capture the car and it's last known owner rather than not have any info on a particular ASC# car at all. If anyone sees an error, please bring it to my attention so I can correct it. There are a few "?" in the new listings, if it wasn't clear in the post or sig from which I got the info, I put a ?? in hopes the owner can help fill in the blank. In some cases I presumed cars were "T-top" if the listing didn't explicitly state it was a 'vert, and I also presumed all '01-'02 WS6s were T/As w/ T-tops unless it was noted otherwise.
