Question What do you guys think!?!?

Eventually, I will be selling my '99 HOSS for a new "toy". I just want to get a feel for what I could be expecting someone to pay for it. Mind you, I already have a "set" price in my head that I want to sell it for.
This MINT SS has less than 15,000 on the clock and IS ALWAYS GARAGED!!! Never saw rain, wet pavement or snow. It is ALMOST 100% stock except for a new battery that I replaced this year, with another AC-DELCO battery. It has all options except for traction control. (Did not want that option because I knew I wasn't going to drive her in the rain.) She has white leather interior and t-tops as well and the 12 disk Monsoon stereo system. A4 transmission. I have included a couple of pics for viewing. (KEEP IN MIND, she is not for sale yet!!!) Thanks for your replys and comments.

WOW!!
I was thinking WAY ABOVE that price. I see people asking for that price, 17-18k, for cars that are not even taken care as well as this one and with higher mileage.
I did take her for a cruise up and down the highway for a bit today. CAR IS SWEET!!! Turns ALOT of heads too because of the color combo, (HO & white leather). PLUS, the paint is GLEAMING!!!

It's a very rough crowd on here. Look at all the other cars for sale. There are some nice ones that no one is making a serious move on. Fairly jaded membership on here.

To get top dollar, advertise it locally and in something national like autotrader or even the Dupont Registry (but $) and hope like hell your buyer is not an LS1tech member or has even heard of LS1tech.

It takes a crowbar to pry open an LS1tech member's wallet.

Very sharp car!, clean, but the thing is, theres nothing to special about it, all stock, and the retail value is like 13k on it. Sorry dude but I really dont see you gettin to much more than 18k for the car. If i had 18k, I would certainly buy it!!! no second thoughts. Good Luck man

LOL!!!!! That was good!!! That is true, but someone who is a collector may want something like this. This car is 1 OF 35! Got the info from the guys over at SLP. The reason I would be asking a lot for the car is, 1 - the car is VERY WELL KEPT, 2 - LOW MILEAGE and 3 - RARE COLOR/OPTIONS.
When the time comes for me to part with her, I'll post here on here for sale 1st, so the good people on LS1tech will get 1st dibbs on her. Then, I think I would use a use tool like DUPONT REGISRTY. Like mentioned above from TWS. Thanks for the replies guys and comments.

UHHHHHH,....naw. Actually, either a '69 pro-touring Camaro SS or Chevelle SS.
I've always liked the older style bodies and am kicking myself in the butt now that I didn't do that in the 1st place!!!

Thanks for the offer purplehayes, but I am not looking for a convertible. I wouldn't mind seeing some pics if you have any though. Can't get enough of looking at these awesome cars. Take care man.

True "collectors" prefer cars with less than 5K miles. Less than 1K miles is even better. Your car is better suited to an "enthusiast" buyer, even though it has low miles. I'd say $18K would be about right. You could probably get 19-20K if it were a 6-speed though.

The problem with it being a '99 is that a bank will not finance it more than 3 yrs and for more than the book value, so you would need a cash buyer. That limits the available audience, unfortunately.

Thanks for the input nineball. Hopefully someone who would really like a "babied" HOSS will want something like this.

there is always someone out there that will pay more than others. my hawk was orig one of my gfathers that sat in his collection. when he passed, he left the car for me with 6800 miles on the clock....now its got 9100 miles...my gfathers best friend has offered up to 40k for it as well as a man that works with my dad. the car is insured for 25k....its not for sale, but if it was, i would not take less than it is insured for, which would be hard to find a buyer, but if it was for sale, i would def call my gfathers best friend.

sometimes you have to sit it out and wait for the right buyer if you want premium dollar, which honestly, could take a few years....if you want top dollar, sit it out, otherwise, off the bat, unless you are lucky, i dont see many people opening their wallet over 20, much like the people above have stated...

beautiful car however, more pics would be great

sorry but

had to clarify: You are saying you have turned down $40K for that car?

I would have handed the title over immediately before the guy could change his mind or his offer.

ya i sure did. not trying to sound like a rich bitch off of my sweet 16 mtv show, we arnt that rich, but i dont exactly need the money...the car is my pride and joy. my grandfather and i were very close. it has more sentimental value than 40k could bring my way. and thats not all he left me. but i would give up the car and $ i got when he passed if he were still here. besides my parents he had the most influence on me. as for your quote, ya my gfathers best friend offered me 40k, although the offers did not start that high, they worked up there. there was also another individual that works with my dad that got right uner 40k when he realized the car wasnt going anywhere. idk why that guy was so interested, but who knows.

do i think the car is really worth 40k..idk why someone would want to pay that but to me its worth more...insurance has it at 25k. i have hagerty

I totally hear what you are saying about waiting it out for the right buyer, which is EXACTLY what I would do anyways. The SS just sits in the garage and gets polished every once in awhile. If you take the amount of miles on her, 14,700, and divide it by the number of years that have gone by, it only adds up to about 1850 a year. Not like I'm in "dire" need to sell it. The car is mint and VERY well kept for a 8 year old car.
I understand your point about keeping the 'hawk that your grandfather had left you. I wouldn't really sell it neither. It probably does have some sentimental value I assume.

Sentimental value and reality are two different things. My NBM 98-SS has only 10,900 miles and has all the options yours has plus Traction control and I would be lucky to get $15k for it. Granted yours is a 99 and HO, but $18k is all the money that a buyer would pay for a car like that. If it were stick then you would get $20k or so. Nice car, but as others have said to be a true collector car your mileage would have to be under 5k and for the big bucks under 1K. Good luck on your sale it's a nice car.

Thanks for your kind comments Wolfgang. Talk about LOW mileage, you have like no miles on your SS!!!

Correct, strickly pleasure driver. And I own it since July of 98. Bought it 2-months old from the original selling dealer because original owner traded it back saying car was too much for him.
