Need advice on ws6 or SS
what would the best yr for any of these special edition model LS1 cars. Performance wise i mean. i know the slight differences in looks, but what i am looking for is are there minor changes in performance which would make one year better than the others?

The 2001 and up have the LS6 intake but a smaller cam. 2000 has the largest cam. The 98, 2001-2002 had 28lb injectors while the 99-2000 has 26lb injectors. GM's ratings are BS anyway. All ls1's make very close power. The Firehawk at 345 Vs the base at 310 very similar number on paper their is a difference but on the dyno it is usually only 10hp or less. I highest Hp stock car I ever saw on a Dyno was a 2001 formula rated at 310... Buy the newest lowest mile best condition car you can afford and then mod it from there...

from 98-02 the hp is from 305-345.the z-28 & T/A have a little less then the SS & RAM AIR T/A & FIRE HAWK.it depends on how much you want to spend on a car.the z & t/a are less but you have more to spend to get the hp the others have.the 01-02 SS & FIREHAWK ARE SLP cars so they have better options and hp.

I've never dyno'd my car, but from what i have heard from people who did is that their cars (which were stock) put out close to 350 and the crank. Word on the street is that all LS1's were underrated and really put out close to 350hp crank...

i dyno'd my 2000 SS sunday it made 311 rwhp in 95 degree heat w/a lid & flowmaster muffler on a dynojet dyno.its a m6 so you divide it by 15% to get crank hp which is 357hp.
