I recently bought myself a 94 hawk.At the dealer it was advertised as a "Trans AM GT" and appears as that as well on my insurance.I am pretty sure this is a real hawk,has matching RPO's and firehawk.com says my VIN is valid.SLP options stickers on the door and under the hood too.

I know they made trans am GT's in 94 only,and the rest of the other years have their vin's listed as formula's when the car is in fact a trans am or a hawk.

Just wondering if this the same type of situation that occurs with the 94 only hawks? Can someone clear this up?

mines a 93 and when i look up the vin it says the same (Trans AM GT), however its a numbers matching valid firehawk. i wouldnt worry about it bud

 

My 2002 Firehawk (#608) used to say "Firebird/Formula" on the insurance.

 

The car has to start out as something. They didnt build up Firehawks from a bare body.

 

I beleive my car as well as my Dad's car (2001 NHRA M6 TA) say the same thing.

My Trans Am says the same thing on the title, for the 4th gens all a "Trans Am," is, is a RPO code.
