Keep the catback and add headers.
I say this because my brother has an SS and he has the SLP Center Mount Exhaust Dual-Dual muffler just headers, and an off road Y-pipe. It has a nice purr at idle and is nasty ounce you put your foot in it along with zero drone on the highway or anywhere where he happens to be toodling along in 6th.
This is coming from a guy who has a big cammed Ws6 with headers, off road Y-pipe and a Borla catback. Its loud. I can get tired of it sometimes, but I love the tone and I can do with the drone. I love the sound though, so distintive.
Just my advice. I however am contradicting myself and not going back to a stock or SLP catback. (non-Loudmouth)
Exhaust is all personal preference at the end of the day.

In my opinion, it's good to see these cars driven and enjoyed by there owners. But what I can't stand and see no point to is people that have these cars just to look at, bragging rights if you will. Ok yes maybe you have the sort of money to do so with. I respect those people and what they accomplished for themselves. But at least drive them.
I'am I contradicting myself here?
Does anyone else agree?

I bought mine with 27,xxx miles. It has about 38,xxx now. I have used it for my DD for the last year. Hopefully that will change.
I think it's great that some people get these cars and keep low miles on them. However I bought this car to drive it.
Right now it has a SLP lid, SLP y pipe, FTRA, strano's/koni's. I have a set of LT's and a cam that will probably go in it. I keep all the things I take off it but don't ever plan to sell it. Hopefully I won't.
the mods I pic I try to be tasteful. No ghetto crap.

How do you guys keep your cars stock or not drive it? It's always been hard for me to do. I have to do little things here and there to set myself apart.
My 99 WS6 has just a little over 100k. I'm the third owner. My car is babied most of the time with the occasional WOT runs on the freeway.

The secret is to have more than one...then you can treat one like a baby and beat the hell out of the other ones. If you only have one and you beat the **** out of it then thats cool...it will only make the rest of ours that arent rarer in the future!
NO....

No offense, but I think that kind of thinking is BS. Your car isn't that rare. Yea, they may have only made xxx amount with the exact options yours has, but that normally doesn't even come into factor on resale value. My car is one of 300 and something if I remember correctly when you factor in color options, etc, but so what? I bought it to drive and to have fun with. Not to mention, you can return just about anything back to stock VERY easily. Lid, catback, headers, shifter, etc. Takes a couple hours, and doesn't take away from value whatsoever.
