You've been saying that for over 6 months.
I just bought a BEAUTIFUL set of stainless steel headers. They are made by Kooks, and fit, finish, and performance are all excellent. Oh yeah... they also come in quite a few different configurations, including stepped race and emissions legal. Do they cost more than the supposed initial price of these? YUP. Are they proven? Yup. CAn you buy a set USED for a reasonable price? Yup... and resell them for pretty near that same used price down the road if need be.
I suspect this "stainless LT1 headers for around 500 bucks" deal is going to end up being vaporware like the Edelbrock LT4 intakes. Advertised for years, never actually available until no one cared anymore.
Dude, I wish you the best of luck... but I DO have a suggestion for you. Find a REAL header company to work with. Almost ANYONE else could have designed a functional LT1 header from scratch by now... the guys you are working with can't even seem to correct their own existing design in any reasonable length of time, despite a clearly demonstrated market. Oh... and since Summit manages to sell a multitude of headers for right around $100 in painted steel... I really don't think decent stainless for around 500 is all that amazing. (Maybe if they'd spend less time polishing the stainless, they could get their butts in gear on the design corrections?)

I Agree No Reason To Bash A Sponsor. I Understand His Frustration. I Have A Co-worker That Has Been Dealing With Carl And Following The Thread. I Think The Guys Are Just Wanting An Honest Answer From The Sponsor. When Are They Really Going To Be Ready For Sale? Sounds Like He Has A Great Product And My Friend Would Like To Buy A Set. Please Pm Me If We Can Get Some Better Info, Or Post For All Patiently Waiting.

Ok first off the reason we can sell the headers at the price we do is because we don't make a whole lot of configurations. We make what most people want to buy. The companys that make every configuration possible have to charge more for each set to make up for all the header they make that don't sell.
As far as you talking about the LT1 headers your in the wrong thread to be talking about them. If you look in the right thread you will see that all my work is paying off. The next sample is on the way to me. Look here:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-modifications/760906-lt1-stainless-headers-poll.html
Now you have to understand I am only a single person working with a header company to make a better quality product for a more reasonable price for my fellow LS owners.
I make a mock up in my own garage and send it to them and they make it and send it back to me. Then I make any adjustments to it that are necessary then send it back to them and then they make another set and send them back to me. All this takes time. All I do it all to try and make them as perfect as possible.
Now if your happy paying $1000 for a set of bare 304 stainless headers then more power to you. If you would like to pay $450 for a set of 321 polished stainless headers then contact me. Higher quality stainless and less than half the price. An if you don't know the difference between 304 and 321 stainless I suggested you do a search to find out.
And I would like you to show me what LS1 painted steel headers you can buy for $100.

Ok I also forgot to post in this thread that I did receive the first sample of the new LS1 headers and y. I had a problem with the headers and sent them back to be redone but the new Y is perfect. Here's a link to the pictures I posted of the new Y:
