If I remember right, stock tips are about 8"x2".
I put 6"x2" stainless tips on my gmmg with about a 4" extension to bring them out from under the rear. These tips have centered inputs, not the offsets like stock ones. I am very pleased with the look, but am thinking of getting a set of 8"x2"s.
I posted a few pics on http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/517234
The pics don't do it justice, and I will send better ones if you let me know.
The rest of my exhaust system is stock, including factory cats.
The sound is extremely nice (very smooth growl) accelarating through the entire rpm range, and "pops" very lightly when decelarating - definitely nice all-around sound.
As far as air flow & performance, you will definetely notice a difference if replacing a factory exhaust. My a4 chirps loud on 1-2 shift with stock tires on moderate acceleration - didn't do that when it was stock! With the lid and gmmg, I have much more response/power - motor revs up much faster, and 1-2 shift can spin tires easily on my extra heavy convertible.
My wife does not like loud cars, but she does like the gmmg sound!
Hope this helps!
