would it be completly stupid to put 20+psi(and maybe a 100shot) to an eagle cranked 408?

i would love to do a max effort 408 with only the best parts but i dont know if i can wait for the cash and that $3400 408 sure looks tempting

NO the Eagle would easily take that. I have used Eagle on several bigger NOS deals and we have at the school as well with no problems. The turbos and blowers are easier on parts usually.
