GMMG GP a GO!!!!
#181
Well I decided not to wait until next Saturday afterall to have the GMMG installed (glad I didn't! ).
It replaced the previous Hooker cat-back I had on this LT1 and damn, it is much louder & meaner sounding...More of a rawer tone than the muffled sound of the Hooker or Flowmaster...Sounds like the when you rev it up...
Now I can't wait to get some headers on the car come next spring!
Thanks Ron & GMMG,
Mike

After driving it a lot this weekend, it is honestly 100x better to me than the Hooker cat-back I replaced it with. Headers will be coming shortly...

alright guys! I know 15+ of you just got new exhaust systems. In the spirit of Christmas, we need some sound clips. I've listened to all the ones on ls1sounds. I want to hear YOUR exhaust. Surely somebody's getting a new digicam from Santa.
I should get my car back (rear ended) a day or two after Christmas, and it'll have a GMMG catback on it. I just don't want to have to wait to hear it.
sound clips... do it!

LS1 sounds is pretty close, although none of the clips really capture the low frequencies the GMMG puts out. Make no mistake, it is DEEP at idle and low rpm. I'll see if I can get some decent sound clips in the next few days, but I do have a few pics of it with SLP Dual/Dual tips..

I Just Got A New Digital Camera For Xmas. What Better Way To Test It Out Then Get Some Clips And Pics Of My Car. Ill Get Some Either Today And Tomorrow And Put Them On My Computer. But I Dont Know How To Host Them Or Put Them On The Net So Someone Will Have To Help Me Out With That One. Mbonte: Those Tips Look Killer On That Car. Nice Choice!!!

What Tips are those???
Hey mbonte - what tips are those - loudmouths?? Did they fit without mods to the exhaust pipe? I have been looking at dual-duals myself and really want the Borla tips, but the price is rediculous. I've got my SLP dual-duals, but don't wanna cut them off. Looking for a reasonable alternative, but may end up with the Borla's in the end. I'm concerned with the 14" length vs the 9" GMMG tips and don't want the fitment problems. Any other ideas for dual-duals?

Hey guys, thanks for the compliments on the tips!
As far as fitment, they fit perfectly fine. It was a bit tedious getting them lined up just right, but there were no real problems. I have always loved the SLP Dual/Dual tips on the Camaro, so it seemed like a natural choice for me.
My car had the OEM SLP Dual/Dual... I had a local shop (friends of family) do the install, and they were able to get the SLP exhaust off and apart without damaging it.
I ordered a new set of Dual/Dual loudmouth tips for the GMMG exhaust. SLP, and any SLP reseller can get them. They don't list them in the catalog or have a separate part number for them, but if you call you can get them. (PM me if you would like to know my vendor) They came in a beautful high polished finish, come spring I will probably polish up the GMMG chambers and tail pipes to match.
For the pair, they cost a little bit less than the GMMG ovals.
Plan to pay money for polished stainless exhaust tips that are good quality from any vendor. This is just a fact of life.

Yes I do have cats... my exhaust is stock manifolds and cats, SLP Y-pipe, and GMMG, and it is loud. Not wake the dead loud, but I imagine without cats it is well on it's way.

Got Mine Installed Last Night!
Thought I'd post a pic of mine after install last night. Man, I like the deep throaty sound of this. Couldn't take it out of the garage due to a 2' snow drift or get too wicked with the revs in the garage at night, but will try to get a sound clip at some point to post on LS1sounds. I have Riggs Racing Heads, TR 220/220-114 Cam, SLP LT Headers, Random Cats, SLP Y-pipe, and now the GMG Exhaust! Sweeeeet!
Update - sent video clip of idle and rev to LS1Sounds.com - sounds sweet - hope he posts it!

Looks really good. I can't wait to get my car back. It's frustrating because while I think it should be ready today, I'm heading to Florida in about an hour. I'll be back Jan 2nd. Till then I'll just drool over other peoples setups.
