Questions on the 427 shortblock:
1) In general are the pistons flush with the deck or are they out of the hole? If out, how much? I would like to know so I can see if my heads will work.
2) Also, how big is the dish on the included pistons?
3) As of today, roughly what is the lead time for the 427 shortblock once deposit has been received? I would want to upgrade to the Callies rods that were mentioned ($350) and also coating the pistons (skirts & top)

Chris, are the diamond pistons that come with this shortblock designed to keep the use of the quench for these engines? I am going to be going with a stock cubed turbo application. Would it be better to go with dished pistons to lower CR or to just use a large chamber head? I think I will be shooting for around 9:1 compression over all.

I'll assume a 6.125" rod.

Eric, you may need a custom piston if you want to spray a 300 shot, Diamond recommends a max of 200 on shelf stock pistons. The highest compression you can get with an off the shelf piston is 12.4 :1 cr. That is with a 62cc cylinder head.
