I've used them both and the 8500 is a good unit....but its obvious which I think is better.

The info I got did not have anything about the Valetine 1 on it......just the Escorts.

I got my Passport 850X50 from this GP, its great and cheap. It is rated ABOVE the Valentine in the tests I have seen.
