I just spoke with Mike and he has decided that for the LS1 Fbody, he is going to focus solely on Speciality and Race converters effective Aug 1, 2002. To that end, for the LS1 F-Body the product line will be limited to the following:
ProThruster 4000, 4200, 4400 & 4600 stall
ProYank Extreme 3400 and 3600 stall
SuperYank 3500 and 4000
Yank will accept orders for it current line of converters through July 31. After that the Stealth, Torque Thruster, Yank, and SuperThruster lines will not be available for LS1 F-bodies.
Yank's product line for LT-1s, vettes, and trucks is unchanged.

Wow!
discontinuing the ST-3500 Converter? I thought for sure that would be Yanks Most popular Street/Strip Converter. IMO, it gives the best of both worlds. Oh well though, its not my Company
I guess Mike really wants to see these Ls1's cuttin some awesome 60fts.

Man that's ashame.
I really feel the ST3500/3800 was a great compromise between an all out race and "not enough" converter.
Overall it's probably a good decision on Mike's part to carry a smaller line of more hardcore type converters.
I'm going to call them tomorrow and see about having my PYE3600 restalled about 400rpm higher.

I understand the decision, but I am suprised at the demise of the ST3500-3800. Unless you're looking for a low STR converter I guess the entry point is about $1K now. My God.

Unfortunate that this has to happen. Looks like PI will be picking up a lot of entry level business. It’s sad too because I really like Yank’s converters.
But guys, don’t be too hard on the SY3500. It’s still a great compromise between street and track. I have very little traction issues with it, and on DRs I’ve cut a best of 1.69 with it (when I had a stock motor), and it’s good for regular 1.7X on DRs with a stock motor. It’s also killer from a roll.
I think I may upgrade to a SY4000 soon though
