Thanks Black. I just ordered. It was only $30 off but still better than nothing.

I just called today and they told me the stock flat hood isn't on the GP. Should I talk to Jean? I want to order my bolton flat hood, if I can save some money, that would rock.

Yeah, talk to Jean and tell her about the ls1tech GP. You should at least save $30. The stock pin on hood is only $255 - 30. Itd be nice to save $45 more but the hood is pretty cheap as it is. Cant wait to get it.

I called up about getting a stock pin on hood and was told its not part of the special. I knew it was too good to be true.

I wanted that hood because its the lightest. Did anyone get the sale price on this hood?

Okay guys, I just got off the phone with Jean and as of 10:30am today (the 21st) she only has had 5 people call in on this and get on the GP. That is including me, so that means only 4 of you have called. I was anticipating a greater demand on this, hopefully another 5 of you will call before the 31st or this isn't going through.

Looks like we got 10 people to commit. For anyone who is interested, this GP is not limited to 10 people. More people can still sign up if theyre interested in getting in on this. You will have to place your orders by Monday though.

Great just wondering if anyone got any updated info on whats going on with the grill situation. Or if we can at least get them pre cut for the grill. Or will it already include it.
Last I heard they were still trying to have a company make it.

Thanks Mike C

Sorry for not getting back to everyone sooner, but I was out of town Monday night and yesterday.

I called Jean and she said that if she doesnt hear from you by either yesterday or today, she should be contacting each of you who committed to get your billing info. She says that there is a 5 week wait for the hoods to be manufactured, so get those orders in, and we'll have the hoods before Memorial Day weekend!

Just to thwart any misconceptions, it is perfectly normal to wait a month to a month and a half to get a custom fiberglass made and shipped. I hoped no one that went in on this expected these things to ship right away. The hoods physically need to be made, which isn't done on VFN's premises. This is how any custom fiberglass work is done, not just VFN. Jean said they can expect to get the hoods there by the second week of May. Either way, those who are in on this, you will have your hoods before summmer and will be able to enjoy the hoods throughout the whole summer season!

I picked up my hood last week (since I live in Chicago). I had a few concerns:

1) The hood can be made funtional I'm guessing, but you have to cut out the holes. I wasnt expecting that, I thought they were already pre-cutout. But not that big of a deal.

2) Havent read all the directions yet, but the hood is missing two holes that hold the hinges on. Two bolts go on, but there should be another little hole for the locator piece. Not sure how to explain it. The stock hood has one. I know I can just file off that little piece, but what happens if i want to put on my stock hood? how will i aligne it without that little lip piece i just filed off?

3) Seems as though the hood wasnt glued right? The back of the hood, facing the winshield, is only glued in the middle and not the rest. Therefore, you can almost stick your pinkey in it. I'll take some pictures tonight to explain my point a little bit better. Just doesnt seem right.

But my main concern was that the hood was missing two holes that i would need to use stock brackets! I really dont feel like drilling holes in the hood for those brackets (i might have to though) and I would prefer NOT to file off those little lips on the bracket.

I'll take some pictures for you guys tonight and you let me know what you think.

But overall look of the hood is darn good. Looks very nice "laying" on my car.

Well the holes for the snout are NOT drilled out, so you have to cut those out yourself. You will receive the grills for the front also.

I'm referring to the two little holes that hold on the hood to the bracket hinge. There are two small holes that "guide" the hood in place, then you bolt down the hood. I'll take some pictures for you tonight and post.

Maybe this is all normal. But I purchased a hood through a different company for my 96 firebird and it fit like a dream, no drilling in the hood. Only thing i had to do was mill out the bracket holes so i could slide the hood back and forth. But it fit like a glove.

I'm hoping this is the same case with this one. I'll see what happens. I"ll post pic tonight and I'd like everyone's input.
