That little fitting you guys are mounting on the pump is not approved by Walbro.

I spoke with a Walbro engineer, and he said that the weird things you and Racetronix are doing to the Walbro pumps make him feel quite uneasy. The hole at the top of the pump that you are putting that fitting on isn't guaranteed to flow fuel all the time. The engineer said the plastic at the top of the pump is quite thin, too. He told me the GSSxxx pumps were not designed to power a module-jet.

Are you doing anything to the pump other than putting that fitting on the top?

Well of course they are not going to "approve" it. We have done extensive flow testing and see no problems with fuel flow on the fitting. I disagree about the thin plastic part in fact I was suprised how thick it was. We spent almaost a year testing before we were comfortable and I cannot speal for Racetronix but I know he has done his own testing. We now have lots of pumps in the field with no complaints, racetronix has been selling this style for some time and I see no complaints about the jet pump connection on his either. I am friends with a Walbro engineer and have worked closely with them in the past. He expalined his concerns to me and I explained my test results to him. He asked for a sampple to test which was sent. I will report his findings but I don't expect to here from him for a few weeks he is quite busy.
Respectfully I am not interested in telling our competition the things we do to pumps to make them work correctly
Thanks for the input and concern,
Mike

Did anything ever happen with the 98 kit?

So many people talk about problems with it. So many people ask how to do it, and no one ever says. I have found tons of threads with 99+ info, but next to nothing on 98's.

Thanks, Chris
