Even if it's slower, I might go with the 454. There's just something sexy about having that many cubes. I'm sure the sound would be AMAZING with the cutouts open, too.

We're all anxiously awaiting HP numbers when you guys get 'em.

Hopefully I'll know by this time next week as the 454 should be here Tomorrow!!!!

I just wanted to say thanks again for answering my ridiculous amount of questions and demands. I had to work with a number of vendors in all this and LME was by far the most helpful and worked with me on my build. I truely felt it was a custom build and appreciate it.

LME just had one of the 454" LSX's with w/ Trick Flow 235's and a FAST int. made 594 RWHP and 568 TQ with all accessories and closed exhaust.

These are some promising numbers for a vertually out of the box cylinder head. Time will tell what these big inch engines will do with other cylinder head intake combinations.

LME can supply complete 454" LSX shortblocks with any cylinder head and intake combination. WE also have a couple sets of the Trick Flow 235's in stock.

Lead time on a complete 454" with the TFS heads is 3 to 4 weeks!!

Feel free to PM or call for pricing on your specific combination.

Those are pretty stout numbers! What was the CR and cam size on that setup?

Bryan, I'm almost ready.
I got a commitment from another member on my motor today. Hopefully I will be ordering my 454 at the beginning of this week.

Was that FAST intake ported or not? For a street car, should I get a ported one or will the the standard FAST intake work just as well?

LME did port the FAST for this engine. We have not yet done a back to back for this combination. Unported vs. ported. I think the port work is worth it in this application. More time and testing will tell.

By all means you could not port the intake now and see what gaines from porting in the future. Cylinder head selection also plays a roll in determining how much the ported FAST will pick up.

Do you have any Dyno sheets to post up? I'm more interested in the power curve, than peak numbers.

I think overall a NA combo would be much simpler and more reliable long term. No belts, idlers, tensioners, etc to wear out. A 454 + a 150 shot would scream. Big cube N20 cars generally dominate the field at the track and for folks living in extreme climates it's easier to keep a NA setup cool.

I would definitely consider a 454 if I didn't already have a completed car.
