Re: Yo VFN!!!!
I have the VFN stock bolt-on firebird hood on my '99 TA, and it went on with no problems at all. You have to drill some holes where the latch striker and hood release are attached, but that took all of 5 minutes to do.
There are threaded plugs in the hood for the hood shocks and the hood brackets at the cowl. This bolt-on hood could'nt be much easier to put on!
You should see how fast this hood goes up with both hood shocks attached! That's because the hood only weighs 18 lbs. Stock hood weighed 48 lbs.
I've had the hood on for 4 months now, and I'm about ready to have it painted. The hood comes gel-coated black or dark blue, and I would have gotten it painted sooner, but it blends in with my Navy Blue Metallic so well that I got lazy about the painting.
This is one of the better weight loss mods for only $355! and it's reversible if you keep your stock hood.

Re: Yo VFN!!!!
Hi guys..
sorry about the delay..
for the hood pins, we recommend using the dzus fastners (smaller type pins with plates) instead of using the larger type 4 pin method. This is actually a better way of securing the hood to the car and blocks out unwanted air. We do sell these for $35.00 for a package of 10.
Will give the $30.00 discount on order 42868 for you - no problem.
We will be honoring the gp for a while more, actually guys who are currently on the list will be recieving a call by the end of the week to place the order...
To ship to TX, there is a $15.00 crating charge that would be added to the price of the hood. Freight charges are usually paid directly to the freight company. It is much cheaper to have the item either delivered to a business address or to pick up at the nearest freight terminal - doing this will save about $50.00 in additional residental delivery charges. Approx. shipping to a business or terminal generally runs between $60-$75.00 and Approx. shipping to a home address generally runs between $110-$130.00.
Thanks. Jeanie

Re: Yo VFN!!!!
How about the fit and finish? Any waves in the surface?
Wet sanding should take those waves out easily, painting and clearcoating should conceal any remaining surface imperfections and seal the hood from the elements.
