Those look extremely smooth...did that member do any sanding to smooth out the calipers or is that just powerder coat doing the work? I am still investigating what calipers I want powdercoated, stock or C5 calipers? I am leaning towards stock because I dont want the raised corvette lettering that is cast into the C5 calipers...although I would rather have the better brake performance you get from the C5 calipers. I might looking into grinding the corvette casting off of the caliper. I hope to be in touch soon and I might be the first SOM customer

Nope, no sanding. These were a set on my core exchange program, you don't want to know what these things looked like when I got them from the previous customer lol.

I just media blast with aluminum oxide which leaves a really nice surface for the powder and then that really nice smooth look you are seeing on all my calipers is just the beauty of powder coating in action

I was going to say..could grind those letters off, would be some work but not all that bad I wouldn't think. I would prefer you have me do the grinding though if you go that route. If you get even a hair too carried away with the grinding wheel it will create some low spots in the caliper that would take away from the finished product, let me be responsible for that one if it happens lol.

Actually I was going to ask if you could do the grinding for that very reason. I will get off my butt and make a decision and then I will have you get started. The reason I want the lettering ground off is one I simply dont want them to say vette and two I want you to do the trans am stickers under the clear. I will be in touch really soon. I have a car show mid Oct what is the turn around if I let you know what I want by the end of the weekend? If I do go the C5 route I will probably also send you new spindles (after I look at them and make sure nothing special will need to be done to get them coated) and possibly the UMI brackets (I think these are aluminum though so I might not need to get these coated...maybe clear??). Sorry so long I will be in touch real soon.

I can get you handled by your show if you get me the parts soon. Just PM me the details, everything you just listed won't be a problem to accomplish. Can grind the letters off and do the trans am stickers and the other parts you wante coated too.

So what does porting your maf ends do? Also how many different colors do you have? I will probably be ordering tb and maf ends within the next day or so ! Hopefully I can get my calipers done next spring.

Porting a MAF removes all the factory restrictions and significantly increases airflow, same concept as porting a throttle body or anything else really

Color wise I can do anything

PM with what you'd like, be glad to help..

If you want brand new seals/botts/slider bolts on the calipers when I put them back together after powder coating them that's no problem. I can get the rebuild kits on discount from a local dealer. Its like $90 normally, with my discount its about $60 for all 4 instead.
