NEW Sponsor AES Racing Engines
Hello everyone and thanks for looking, we're new to LS1tech but not to LS engines or engine machining. AES, Automotive Engine Specialties is located in Elk Grove Village IL and has been building and machining performance engines since 2002. AES was started by Tony Schroeder who had his beginnings working at Fast Times Motor Works before leaving to begin his own business. I've also made some changes of my own and joined AES myself, some of you may know me from my previous position.
We invite you to come by and check for yourself our facility
Let me show you what we're working with and why you should choose us for your next engine build.
Sunnen CV-616 engine hone known in business as the "cylinder king"
Pin fitting and connecting rod honing are important steps in performance
engine preparation and longevity
Engine balancing is critical for horsepower and bearing life, Tony and Mike
have chosen CWT's multi bal 5000 setup for the best accuracy.
Parts are thoroughly washed before being assembled.
Cylinder head and intake porting and port matching are all performed
by AES machinist on a daily basis
5 angle valve job performed on our Sunnen Valve Guide and Seat Machine
To test our work and best results we use a Flowdata FD700 flowbench
(it was first owned by Warren Johnson, bit of history)
Engine assembly has its own room, a clean area, free of debris.
Just another IHRA "mountain motor Pro Stock" 820ci
The end result. Jim Robbins, one of the quickest nitrous 10.5" cars in the world.
Jim Chose AES to build his previous 737ci, followed by 648ci engine in 2009 to fall under 650ci and be within ci/weight rules for NMCA 10.5
The car was featured 3/2009 in Car Craft magazine
