UPS just showed up with my shocks as well - only took a month, but that's ok. Wolfe Racecraft hooked it up!

Strange DA with QA1 14" 250 lb spring- should be a nice combo when I come down on the wheels hard

Check it out:

Hey check this out, LSxTV put a short story together on this project! AWESOME! Thanks so much to Lindsey Fisher and the rest of the folks over at LSxTV for thinking enough of our little '98 to feature it on their site! Thanks!

10/15/2011 UPDATE:

As of today, the car is just about complete with the exception of a few odds and ends in the interior, and of course tuning. She fires up, and sounds like a beast from hell.

REAR END: After much deliberation, we decided to remove the 8.8 conversion and install a 9" from Moser (Bob@Brute Speed really hooked us up- if you need a rear end you call BOB!) It is important to know that we're not ditching the 8.8 at all, in fact, we're having parts made for it as we speak. It's just that we've passed our completion deadline with BackLash and really need to get this thing done. There are a lot of events coming up and the weather is going to be perfect for racing here soon, so I wanted to get her done. The 9" will do the trick. Here are the specs from Moser:

-Custom Moser 9" Fbody housing (we opted to leave the shock mounts and PHB mount off the rear as we need to custom build those items to fit our wheels). Obviously the only mount we needed was the T/A mount.
-Nodular Iron Center with 4150 Yoke
-4.30 gear ratio
-4" Narrow on each end, 8" overall
-40 Spline Upgrade
-Moser Extreme Gun Drilled axles with Star Flanges
-5/8" Studs

Should be a nice addition to the car- and obviously should hold like a beast!

Pics will come as I get parts in!

9" is here...sorry for the lousy shots...I will provide better shots and details when I have some time!

Erik@Lashway

Check out those MONSTER 40 spline axles...flanged and drilled of course. WAY overkill for this particular set up, but we build things once around here....BackLash isn't going to have a stock 346 forever

While we wait for more parts to be water-jetted, we decided to sit her on the ground (no rear suspension is installed yet) to roll her into another spot.

As you can see, when correct ride height and a larger tire in the rear is set in place she's gunna look killer. Mind you also there is months of dust on her. We're going to have all the paint cleane dup and touched up last...

We're also having some suede interior items made as well which should really set off the interior and give it that clean race car look we're looking for.

Hey everyone - we took a break from her for a while to focus on some other projects going on (and paying our bills).

We have mounted the rear coil overs which is awesome (they're inside the car)

Also tweaking some other things in the process.

Pics will come soon

Thanks guys!

We're going to hammer on her this weekend to get her rolling and driving around! Should be interesting...

Admittedly we had to focus on some other projects, so Backlash took a Backseat for a bit...no pun intended.

Well....after 8 months of working on it when I could....here you go.

There is a TON of custom, one-off work done on this car including the rear suspension which has been relocated into the cabin. Yes, the cabin.

Almost everything in the rear was custom made for this car, so it took a while to get everything right. So worth it though. More pics to come.

Still haven't hooked up throttle, tuned it, or finished brake lines....so don't mind the slow pace!

Some updated shots of the rear set up.

Note, the Wolfe anti roll bar is not installed yet. Stock fuel tank will be removed, and a cell will be added in the rear trunkwell of the vehicle. The anti roll bar is fitted in the location of the stock fuel tank.

Everything you see on the rear housing (with the exception of the backbrace) was built or added by us. Most parts were drawn on solidworks, cut on a water jetter, and tig welded onto the housing. We also fabricated the PHB and LCAs. The LCA brackets were also built here.

We relocated the coil overs into the cabin of the vehicle for a really unique look. Best part is they are completely functional. We're really proud of the set up that we thought up on this one!

Enjoy
