I forgot to mention, the car is out for the cage work.

Next stop will be the stripes and decals, while we wait for some parts to show up.

The rollcage, drag seat, and 5 point harness are all done, and I will take new pics hopefully on Saturday. Once we have the new rearend, we will swap over the other parts on the car. I will start taking video off the car, right after it gets all the decals next week.

7.31.07 Update:

Our original opponent, who we only knew to be Drew B. with Blue Oval Network has bowed out. We are now supposedly racing a 1987 GT, and don't have much info on the car or driver.

Video #4 is now up. As you can see the car is fully operational. We'll do one more video before the race, sometime next week, and it will be during the day... Enjoy!

Folks are asking for a recap of the event.

Our crew is staying at:
Hampton Inn Kansas City-Lee's Summit
1751 NE Douglas St.
Lee's Summit, MO United States 64086
Phone: 1-816-347-8600

We are racing at:
Kansas City International Raceway
8201 S. Noland Rd.
Kansas City, Missouri, 64138
www.kcir.net

August 10th, 2007: We are heading down early from Chicago, hope to get there before 4PM. We plan to watch the segments they are filming on Friday.

August 11: We plan to spend all day at the track as they are filming some segments before us, and we need to do some paperwork. I do not know if they are running TnT during the day, but they might be. We are supposed to race in the late afternoon, early evening.

We are racing some guy named Joseph Dole from Kentucky who has a 1987 Mustang GT. He is a last minute replacement for our original opponent who has dropped out for some reason.

For the record, our car has made a number of passes, and it's running good.

I want to express my profound thanks to Speed Inc. for doing all the work on the car. Without their support we would not be racing. Thanks again to Larry, Butch, Tom and the rest of the gang over there.

I will try like hell to make a couple hundred window decals too.

The car is also going to be shot for GM High Tech Performance next week. Thanks again to editor Rick Jensen for the opportunity.

Look for one more video from our crew next week, and then we are off to Kansas City!

John

I'll admit it. I'm a little stressed right now. I just printed out like 20 pages of directions, still need to pack our support van, and need to get up around 5:30AM. We will hit the road early and will be there hopefully in mid afternoon though it might be even early evening if traffic blows. Wish us luck guys!!!!!!!!!!!

Without further adieu, video #5:

Someone asked me the other day on how the car did last fall, so here is an update.

I raced Pinky at the LSX Shootout in Memphis last fall, in the 11.0 index. I was very happy that the car cranked off an 11.02@121.63 on a 1.55 short time with no changes from the summer. During the summer the car was going 11.3's on motor and 60's were in the high 1.5 and mid 1.6 range. Basically the car does not have enough converter for motor and is very 150 shot friendly. Car also went 11.08, 11.11, 11.14, etc., very consistent.

And now, the final update for 2007.

I ran the Camaro a month later at Great Lakes Dragaway. It was a cold day, and while the baro was nice, the track conditions were on the edge. I was able to hook on motor but the car was a handful on a 150 shot and skated around mid track.

Car ran very well with about a full tank of gas plus it's base weigh of 3300 with me...

Here is the thread:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...995&highlight=

But the highlights are:

10.95@123.47 1.57 motor
10.94@122.98 1.52 motor
10.92@122.53 1.48 motor

10.00@133.90 1.38 nitrous 150 shot

Best motor pass:
1.48
4.435
6.918
98.95
9.083
10.92
122.53

Best mph motor pass:

1.57
4.504
6.976
99.62
9.129
10.95
123.47

I actually drove the car to and from the track, here are some pics:
