Default speaker question

i have a 10" type r in my car now with a 1000 watt amp turned half way up and i leave the sub at like 0 on the deck settings. so i dont like crazy bass just a little bit over stock. would i be able to get enough bass if i removed the sub and got 2 good sail pannels speakers. if so what brand

a two 6.5 sail will never sound better/like a single 10.

i had 2 kicker 6.5 woofers 150rms each powered by a kenwood amplifier, i removed them and put in a single 12 250rms in the hatch, the 6.5s bass is not even close to the 12.

True. But on the other hand, if he just wants some more punch than stock but not a big bass sound, you can do that by just upgrading the Monsoon sail panel subs. Check with Kee Audio - the Audiopipe or Bazooka 6.5" subs will make a noticeable difference in bass response without a separate sub.

I have the Audiopipe sail panel subs and CDT components in the doors. I like having enough bass that I can feel it but not so much that it is something you're constantly aware of. The factory subs are somewhat anemic - they are more mid-bass than sub. The Audiopipes provide richer bass that is capable of being felt through the seats and armrest when turned up without overpowering the rest of the music. If that's what you're looking for, I can highly recommend them.
