Default Raptor install question

Alright guys I need some help. I ordered a raptor because I thought my harlan was bad but now am wondering if its something else thats causing the problem because im having the same issues as I did with the harlan.

I have the red wire ran to a switched power source, black wire ran to a ground under the dash and the green wire ran up to the lower pcm harness or one farthest away from firewall connected to the white wire coming out of pin #10. The shift light blinks back all the correct sequences for my selection just no light at the desired rpm? From everything ive read I would think I have it hooked up properly. I have it set on 4 cyl mode which is 1-down 2-up 3-down on the dip switches and have the rpm selection at 2500 rpm just to test and im not getting anything when im at that rpm.

I thought maybe at first that the original scotchlock wasnt doing the job so I ran the new green wire from the raptor and soldered it into the tach line and still nothing. Please help

Yeah they seem to be all the way up or down and im getting the correct 4 flashes back when the ignition is on for 4 cyl mode. Ive been just testing it out in the garage and since i dont want to wake up the whole neighborhood ive tried it at 2300 and 3100 rpm just to test and it didnt light up either time at those chosen rpm settings.

So I guess the other question I should be asking is it possible for my factory tach signal to be coming from somewhere else other than the #10 pin white wire coming off the red PCM? Is there another tach wire that I could splice into other than the one coming out of the pcm? I got the suggestion to splice into the wiring on the injectors and change it to 1 cylinder mode on the shift light but dont really like the idea of that. Any more help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I called Raptor today and the idea of splicing in the injectors is what they said.

Mark.

Just for my own personal test I just cut the #10 pin white wire coming from the red PCM in half to see if the tach wouldnt work anymore and it still does???

Would it be possible that my 2000 has a pcm out of another year? I noticed on harlans website that 1998 is different than 99-00 but didnt say anything about 2001-2002. To me if i cut the tach signal wire I wouldnt be getting a reading on the factory tach, am I right?

any update on this? I have an 02 Z and just got a raptor today, wondering before I go and try to install, I have blaster coils so there won't be any wiring to that for me.
