Default DVD player "warning" bypass?

hey guys, i had a dvd player installed on my c5 a while back by a shop. And to bypass the blue illegal warning screen they installed a switch and told me to tap on the screen and flip the switch to get it to work. it finally stopped working and it doesnt go to the dvd now. Is there a way to bypass this so I dont have to play with a switch to get the dvd player to work? I heard about people wiring it up to their e brake n stuff. Help?

Default

It is illegal and very dangerous (not to mention stupid) to play DVDs while driving.
