Default Newb grounding questions

I relocated some of my body grounds in the engine bay. I re-painted the engine bay, so the grounds are not touching bare metal on the inside.

Ive got bolts going through the ground connector, with a bare spot on the back side of the body to ground with the nut holding the bolt. Is this okay? or can this cause issues?

Does the ground connector have to meet with bare metal?

It's better if it does but if the bolt is one that can carry current reasonably well (e.g. not plated with something that is an insulator/semiconductor as opposed to a conductor) then it MIGHT be fine depending on how much current you're pulling.
