midbass in rear seat area

Has anyone attempted to install 8" midbass speakers in the rear seat speaker locations with success ?

This thread from 2012 has complete instructions with photos for installing 8" subs in the sail panels: https://ls1tech.com/forums/stereo-el...gate-subs.html. The speakers used there may or may not still be available but the installation procedure would be the same.
