Need help with speaker wiring.
98 Formula and a Monsoon system. I am replacing the rear seat 6.5" speakers. I see four wires on each side. What is what?
I see these colors:
Driver side:
blue/white
green/black
tan
white
Pass side:
light blue/black
green
tan
orange
Obviously the new speakers only have two terminals so what do I do?
Thanks
Brian

Dont the monsoon formulas have a seperate tweeter? that would explain the extra wires. Your best bet, take the grill off, take the speaker out and look at the wires going to each speaker/tweeter.

i would just take all the wires out and re-run new ones, the monsoon wires are **** anyways. run your own wires to whatever you are powering them with, eithor the head unit or amp, i would go with an amp.

Those speakers are dual voice coil subwoofers. Practically impossible to find aftermarket equivalents for. Most people just add a small sub amp, and a 10" sub in the hatch storage cubby to replace the lost bass, and improve on it as well. Look at the bottom of this page for the wiring colors, and you'll see the four wires on each side are connected to the dual voice coils on each speaker.
