I have a 00 SS and i want a new radio. It will be the same radio unti but with a CD instead of a tape player. I am looking to buy a new one but its from a 97 will i have any problems with the install since the difference in years?

As VIP1 said, the head unit from 97 is physically compatible - it will mount and plug right in. However, you won't be able to use your existing CD changer with it because CD head units couldn't control a changer until late in the 99 model year. Also, because it can't control a CD changer, it also won't work with any of the auxiliary input adapters on the market in case you decide you want to add satellite radio or an MP3 player.
