Default INOP code on Monsoon

When I took my '98 TA in to get inspected the battery must have died. My stereo "LOC" code appeared. I thought I put the correct code in, but after 3 attempts the unit displayed "INOP" The Dealer wants to charge more than the stereo is worth to 'try' and unlock it. I tried the 2&3 preset way...nothing.
How do I get it back to LOC from INOP?
Thanks!

You must have entered the wrong code eight times for it to go INOP. You have to leave the radio on for at least an hour before you can attempt to unlock it again. At that time you'll only have three attempts before it goes INOP again and you'll have to wait another hour.

The procedure to unlock the radio without the original code is in the FAQ sticky.
