Default Is this an OK HU?

I just bought an Audiobahn A1150N and installed it last night with a HUMount. So far it sounds really good, much better than stock. I had to cut out that piece of plastic/metal behind the old HU so the new one would fit. I plan on adding a Kicker Comp 10'' in a ported box powered by a Kicker 350W amp. I had the same sub and amp in my truck and it hit pretty freakin hard. Now all I gotta do is replace my sail panel subs. I'll be contacting KeeAudio soon about those Bazooka replacements.

If your adding a comp 10, dont use replacement subs, put full range in place and rewire past the monsoon amp so you have full signal to them. IMO there is no need to do subs in the sails and in the rear.

The sail panel speakers blow quite easily, it's even considered a factory defect from GM. I replaced all of the factory 2ohm speakers... They just down right suck.

That's not a bad idea. The comp 10 kicks pretty hard as it is, and the system sounds nice, but I just hate having missing speakers. Would I just use the preouts off the HU to an amp for the midranges? Or skip the amp and use the built in HU amp straight to the midranges?

Pics!

The Kicker setup looks nicely done. I love the humounts. Not a fan of Audiobahn tho. Their amps are ok but I have seen nothing but problems with everything else from them. BTW what is hangin from your mirror in the first pic? Right above the sirius unit.

To answer your thread question....I'd honestly put that head unit amongst the worst available as far as SQ. Audiobahn usually draws customers based on the appearance of their products, not performance. I think the three figures below say more than enough about the HU:

# CD frequency response: 40-18,000 Hz
# CD signal-to-noise ratio: 55 dB
# FM sensitivity: 17 dBf

Thank you, I did it myself.

That thing hangin is the Gulf South Firebird & Camaro Club's logo/medalion. i don't think we're the first to come up with this logo though.

I guess I'll stick with the HU untill it dies, or I want to upgrade it. So far, it sounds very nice.
