Default Need some Audio tech guys!! Odd PROBLEM!

Hey guys, i have an alpine 9856 HU in my 2000 camaro. I bought it 2 years ago. Out of the blue while listening to music, the HU cuts out(as in it looks like it turns itself off because the display goes blank) and then turns itself back on again and playing exactly where the song left off almost like the unit didn't lose complete power but the faceplate did if that makes sense.

Anyone else have this type of problem?

Do the power windows stop working at the same time as the HU? There have been several people who had the RAP (retained accessory power) wire come loose at the BCM. The RAP circuit powers both the radio and the windows.

nope windows work fine. I have searched and searched on google and just about anywhere and it seems many people don't have problems with alpine and especially this one. Talk about annoying!

An old friend of mine had the same problem with his Alpine deck. I think he just ended up buying a new deck.

So, is it when you hit a bump or does it do it after a certain instance ? or just randomly

Well the car lost all power tonight and is stranded, im having it towed. I wonder if the Hu was an indication something electrical was wrong.
