Heads Up Display is in.. (HUD)
I just finished putting an aftermarket Heads up Display unit in my trans am. i got it from lingenfelter.com. It works great. To wire it all up i pulled the PCM and wired everything right there. 4 wires...Power, Ground, Speedo, Tach. It was not hard at all. i ran the wires through the firewall and hid everything under dash. The only downside to it is the unti itself sitting on teh dash. I like my dash and interior to be clean so it takes a little getting used the box sitting on the dash. but its small. much smaller then say a radar detector. I also did not use the tint peice they give you. My winsheild reflected it perfectly. even in direct sunlight. i havent tried it at night yet but i would imagine its even better. If you really like those heads up display units in the prix's and the vettes then id suggest gettin one. They are a little pricey at $210. but i figured if im gonna keep my car as long as possible i might as well set it up how i want. If any ones got any questions feel free to ask. take it easy.

Bump to the top, I wanna see this too. Always wondered if we could get this in our cars.
PS: T/A right? What color is the heads up display? Ideally I'd hope it would be red to match the rest of the interior.

Ok, you can get a app for your iPhone called iHUD. Glue the iPhone to the dash and there it is.
You can select different display options like miles or kilometers, four 'views', couple fonts, and color including orange.
It's got a selectable speed alert and supposedly alerts to both fixed and mobile traffic cams although I haven't seen that work yet.
Only one problem: I have no idea how to attach my phone to my car's dash securely enough without wrecking them both, I'm a little fussy about the surface finish on both objects.
