This thread would be a good candidate for the bench racing section, as well.

I say wait until your car is sorted out. Nothing would be more embarassing in a situation like this than your car breaking (helping to prove the whole redneck/TA stereotype) or you losing because you miss fourth and everyone says you can't shift or your car is just slow and you're making excuses.
