M5 Death
I was on the 5 freeway going home from work when this nice blue BMW gets next to me. I look at the rims and first think M3. His a younger looking guy so I was sure he would race. He starts to speed up so I let him in my lane to get through traffic. Then I see it M5! I had never even seen an M5 now im about to race one . I have also never even raced an M3. As some of you may no I just got my cam put in about a week ago and have been wanting to test it real bad. We drive for a while before there is an openning. maybe 1/4 before there are more cars. I pull to the next lane and get next to him. at about a 50 mph roll we both step on it. he pulled ahead from the start and I was on his *** the whole time till we both had to shut down at like 120. We both wanted to go again but there was 2 much traffic ahead. i followed him for a long time, I was almost in LA. and we started in Santa Ana. So yea. We were playing cat and mouse for a while till i just said peace and went back home. Im pretty happy with the outcome though. Those things have 390hp right? His ride was manual just for some more info.

Yeah around 400 out of a 5.0 v8... they're heavy as hell though. Damn, those things are the ultimate cars. Good kill!

And not meant to discredit that high dollar SPORTS CAR by any means, as a matter of fact I even considered buying the M5 before I purchased my TA. But it made no senses to me to go and hack up a car that expensive!

Re: M5 Death
yes they are sports cars , chief.
The M5 is not a sports car. It does not fit into that category. It's a sedan with an emphasis on luxury and a powerful motor. My boss drives one, can't say I've driven it before but I've been in it, and it's definitely loaded as far as luxurious items go. The suspension is tuned for comfort and it's too heavy to break low 13s. The M3, a sports car, is faster than it. If an M5 is a sports car to you, what is a Viper? A top fuel dragster? How bout a Ferrari 575M? An F1 car?
The new M5s with the V10s look pretty damn spiffy. I want one.

So maybe you could respect his, Or is this just another pathetic attempt to encourge an argument.

Re: M5 Death
O how meaningless the arguments of automotive ontology can be. Fine. Call it a sports car, then, if that's your "generally held view" (?).
And as for a NEWBIE, I was driving 10sec cars, when you were still on the nipple! NEWBIE to this forum is correct, I don't have the time to bench race as you do!
So Lighten up. Everyone here is entitled to there own opinion, and don't need Mr Webster's input. How you react to their opinion, demonstrats what kind of person you are!
