First Race/First Kill in my TA Saturday I had the opportunity to really race for the first time. I have had the car about two months now, but hesistated to get crazy since I was pulled over twice the first two weeks I had it. That all changed on saturday ....
Saturday night Im driving down Rt. 18 (A straight, long country road with few cops) in ohio going out to akron to go clubbing with my friends. The night was nice and cool perfect for racing. As I make a left off of Rt.71 to Rt.18 I notice a blue newer GT (99-current) in front of me. I hammer it to get next to him to see if he wants to run. Intially as I pace him it seems like he doesnt want to play so I just keep on cruising. Suddenly, he punches and goes for it, I follow suit. I get next to him and ask if he wants to go on three. He says we will go at the next light. Next thing I now we are both next to each other at an intersection. I say,"Going on green?" He replies,"yep, cops shouldnt be a problem tonight." Next thing I know light goes green and he launches, Im on cloud nine for some reason and he gets two car lengths on me before I floor it. Next thing I know Im shifting into second...the rear tires break loose, and he is coming in fast. My needle is bouncing of the rev limiter, then I hit third...the tires chirp hard. Before I know it he is at least 5 cars back and Im still pulling. Thats when I know its time to shut down. He pulls up next to me gives me the thumbs up and mouths "wow". I don't think he expected the onslaught that my bone stock LS1 brought. I return the thumbs up and tell him good race. Cool guy, nice GT, great race. Sorry if this is long
