well that's pretty impressive, i had thought about doing a remote mount setup. but anyhow I'm not the one saying GTO's are slow i almost bought one, but this guy was slow.

i'd take a gto over an f-body any day, as long as being fast doenst matter. they ride soooo smooth! but my 04 with CAI and diablo tuned didnt even break into the 14.0x's, so sad.

i ran the equivalent to a 13.7 or 13.8 in my little 2v gt with no mufflers and a shifter. on street tires.

 

i run 13.30 all day long in my wife's TBSS with nothing but a cold air intake and axle back slowmaster exhaust. well and a tune. and that's a 4300lb truck shaped like a brick

but if i lost to someone like jimmy, i dont mind losing, someone who has put that much time or money or both into their vehicle deserves to win. this is off topic but me and my buddy who always helps me work on my cars, were out looking for races in his turbo'd 3rd gen eclipse, nothing special mid 13's. but he's proud of it. well he tried to get this 3000gt with a really nice body kit to race him and when he finally took the bait, we heard him nail it but actually dropped back then shot past us like we were in reverse, come to find out he had a built motor with twin 16g turbo's runnning some crazy boost, putting down i think it was like 530awhp. i personally felt no embarrassment to be beat by a car like that, it was just fvckin awesome to see it in action. thats how i would feel about getting beat by a turbo'd GTO, and might get me motivated to get rid off the bottle and get a turbo myself

 

I don't see why people think GTOs are so heavy. At the track the other day, my car was 3680 with me in it. Obviously the iron block and 9'' add some weight, but I had pro stars on the back, !rear seat, !rear seat belt, !spare/jack, !A/C to compensate somewhat. And the car has a th350 in it currently, not the 4l80e in my sig.

My friends LS1 GTO weighed 3675 with him in it. He is !skidplate, !spare/jack, !gas tank brace, and he weighs about 30 pounds less than me (body weight).

 

No jimmy it doesn't matter everyone knows Gtos are too slow and such heavy pigs I bet an 02 ws6 probably is about 300 pounds less then my 3700 pound car.
