Default Killed by 240sx for cash

I was smokin trees with a ricer fanatic today who was convinced his stock civic was fast. Long story short I gave him 4 cars and took countless. I won 100, he did the typical ricer thing and stared ranting about a turbo 240 sx that would rape my "piece of **** camaro". I agreed to race his friend for 150 bucks. We lined up and launchd pretty evenly with him ahead by half a car I slowly pulled a fender by the top of second, at the beginin of his 3rd he pulled me by a fender which becam an entire car length by 120. Atfer the race he told me he had a sr20 turbo with other minor upgrades. I have a stock A4 with 2.73's, and I have beat a turbo 240 before by 2 lengths.

Just like anything else, it all depends on the setup and tuning. Good job actually posting a loss, and get to modding

You shouldnt have been racing for money with you being stock.
Dont feel bad he was probably stock sr20det with the boost turned up. I've messed with a few of those cars, and ran one that I built for my friend with my SS. He was stock turbo (T25) at 20 psi we were about even until 100 and he pulled a half car. Went to the track and he ran a 13.1 blowing the turbo at the 1000'. Then we built the head, put a T28 and some BK cams and ran with him at 10 psi. He got me by about a car from 20-90. So considering I'd say you did pretty good. The stock sr20det on stock boost is pretty much a turd though.

yeah, you need to watch out for 240's cause they can become little screamers. My buddy has one with a SR20DET running an aftermarket turbo on high boost. That little thing is brutaly fast at 400+ RWHP.

Maybe he was thinking sr20=rb26? Idk....anyway, sr20 with larger turbos, especially on race gas, can be deadly. I remember one being built on *I think* pbnation, it was a gt42r on his sr20, stock suspension, shooting for low 10s, high 9s. The best swaps though are ls1s

Haha, I was thinking the same thing. Careful, OP, just because a car has a 4-banger doesn't mean they don't have a nice little (or big) turbo setup on it. Those cars don't weigh much, especially when stripped out, so they don't need huge power to go very fast.

so far I've won a lot more money than I've lost, usually I don't even race for cash unless im 90 percent positive, but this kid wanted to race his stock honda civic dx against my camaro and thought I WAS THE BIGGEST IDIOT IN THE WORLD for giving him a headstart. How was I to know this dude's friend wasn't a complete jackass like him(the guy the civic I had recently got his car impounded for "drifting" around corners in the neiborhood). I was already up 100 so I gave it a shot against the "stock" 240sx, which I had beatin before on stock boost, and lost a decent race. The guy claims he runs mid 13's wit street tires @ 7 pounds. He also said that he has a boost controller and slicks if I have any friends that wanna race.

i call motherfreakin BS.

haha JK. just saying what all the guys in my thread said about an sr20 beating an ls1

the thread i posted was about the same...40-120mph...but my friend pulled about 3 cars. so either my buddy has more boost...or the ws6 driver wasn't too good (i know he doesn't drive as good as my buddy)...either way finally they see its plausible for the ls1 to actually be beat by a turbo 240.

good runs

I'm assuming his "drifting" was turning hard and pulling the e-brake? Lame-o.

Good loss, though. That'll teach you a good lesson for not too much dough.

Jim
